Education Programmes: Food Handling and Maltese for Foreigners Courses
The National Council of Women believes in empowerment through education. As a result we seek to regularly organise courses, such the popular Food Handling course, and the Basic Maltese for Foreigners course. These courses were very well attended during 2024.
NCW has been organising these courses for the past few years and they have always been a success. The Basic Maltese Course for Foreigners was led by Ms Sandra Degiorgio, who volunteers as a Maltese teacher. It focused on grammar and conversation and was extremely popular with foreigners living in Malta.
The Food Handling Course, which is recognised by the Food Safety Commission, was led by Tutor Mr Joseph Cassar. This course focused on food safety and hazards, allergies and intolerances, among others.
Later, on 31st March 2025 NCW organized a Certificate Giving Ceremony for the students who attended these courses. The event was held at The Victoria Hotel, Sliema. Following the presentation of the certificates, a buffet lunch was organized.
